Transient Voltage Suppressor(TVS)二极管是保护电子器件免受过电压影响的元件,广泛应用于包括便携式设备在内的家电、电脑、通信、汽车等领域的产品。

齐纳二极管正向偏压时与一般二极管相同的特性, 当反向偏压达到一定数值时,电流突然增大,在齐纳二极管中就会出现齐纳击穿。 反向电流大幅变化, 端子电压的变化也较小,于是适用于构成恒定电压源。

一般的二极管是由P型和N型半导体的结(PN结)制成的,而SBD(肖特基势垒二极管)是由金属(金属)和Si(半导体)的结制成的。
SBD(Schottky Barrier Diode)的特性是类似于PN结合的整流特性, 但内部有很大的差别. PN结合二极管 通过多数载体和少数载体移动电荷, 但是SBD(Schottky Barrier Diode )是因为是UNI-Polar 元件,可高速动作,因此在高频领域使用容易。
SBD(Schottky Barrier Diode)的另一个显著的特点是正反向电压低. 反向电压比PN结合二极管相比低1位数字, 正向电压是相对来只有一半左右。
